A comprehensive collection of ephemera and material directly associated with Patrick Lichfield (to use his professional name), or more correctly, Patrick Anson, 5th Earl of Lichfield. Lord Lichfield often signed his personal documents just Lichfield. An album containing 12 photographic Christmas cards all signed by Patrick, 9 of which are also signed by his wife Leonora (nee Lady Leonora Grosvenor), one on his own, one by his sister & brother in law Elizabeth & George Shakerley, which features Shugborough Hall, and one with just Patrick & his sister. This no doubt documents the different stages of his relationships at the various Christmas dates. Also included are various personal invitations, passes, photographs and other ephemera connected to the wedding of Patrick & Leonora, and also his sister, all seemingly sent to or involving a Mr & Mrs Caine, and later just Mrs E Caine. The Caine family were closely associated with the Lichfield family as they lived on the Shugborough Hall estate , and Mrs & Mrs (May) Caine and their daughter Edna Caine appear on various of the invitations. There is a very close relationship with the Royal Family which is clearly evident.
